humming bird feeder

well I've had a couple of (empty) bird feeders sitting on the porch for a while. One is a hunningbird feeder, and I a wondering if I can put sugar water in it. If so how much sugar to water

It's usually one part sugar to four parts water I think? Make sure to change it often in this heat! :)

Put the feeder up where it is too high for cats to jump.

If you think it is that dangerous with the cat then please don't put a feeder out until you can figure out a safer place for it. Are the cat's yours?

NO!! my cats stay indoors. The cat outstde is my neighbors. there is a faimily of birds living in a hole on the roof. I dont know what kind they are but I thought it would be nice to feed them
