Okay i'm going to ask this here in hopes there may be someone who knows the answer.
I have 2 Black Mutant Pheasants and they are separated they really like to pick but thats not the question.
I have the standard plastic water's with the screw on bottom well the pheasants like to fling their water they just stick in their beaks and start flinging.
I think they do it when they are eating well they can empty a waterer in no time i have to refill it about 4 times a day.
I have tried the waters you use a bottle with and only the bottom sticks into the pen but they emptied those too.
I can't give them the small quail water bases because their beaks are large and i'm afraid they won't be able to drink at all.
Any suggestions on how to solve this water flinging?
Pheasant waterer question
Marbles in the water? A grid of hardware cloth over it? Placing it rather high to make them reach? I don't know...
Thanks porkpal i just been racking my brain as to how to stop them.
When my hens do this i just give them a quail waterer but the pheasants beaks are so big i don't think they could drink properly.
BTW for those who use rocks or marbles in chick waterer's if you use the quail waters there no need for the marbles or pebbles.
I'm going to try the moving it higher i hadn't thought of that and if that don't work i guess the hardware cloth.
The way these Pheasants love water you would think they are kin to a duck LOL
