We had a beautiful crop of grapes last year - 1st time, discount store grape vine that cost me like $2...
This year we have lots of grapes again but my neighbor called attention to them and they have white stuff that looks like mold or mildew on them! Yikes.
What is it and what should I do about it?
weird stuff on my grapes
Noble rot?? I'm thinking that's what that is.
But is it the good infestation or the bad? These grapes seem immature.
If you're making wine out of the grapes it can be a great thing, makes very good sweet desert wine. I don't really know enough about it to say much more also I don't know my Northern grape varieties and their problems that well.
It's the same organism, but depending on conditions, it produces the noble rot on wine grapes or gray rot, which ruins the crop.
sounds real interesting but I would ask the local ag extension service what to do about it.
