Questions about Elephant Ears Colocasia

Parkersburg, WV

Hi, I posted a question about EE's earlier I had recieved in a BigBox store(wally world). I am the one that did not know to cover them up all the way or not.....Any way they have grown up and out quite well. I have them in a couple of the biggest pots I have, about the size of a five gallon bucket only more circumference and not as tall. They get watered at least once a day. They recieve morning sun til about 11 or 12 then shade. The leaves are starting to get a yellow shade in them. I have given them aquarium water, miracle grow and even bone meal on top of potting soil thinking they get a little every time I water. They look healthy I am just concerned that I am doing something wrong.

Here is a pic from a few weeks ago I had moved them onto a porch after a hail storm. I do not know if you can see a difference from pics or not, but in person they have a definite color change.

One/pot?
I'd plop them in the ground.
At that size now they'll need some root room.
Have they filled the container yet?

I looked back on my photos and found a few like your.
They were all potted.

I didn't think the sun is they problem at first.
How long were they on the porch after the hail storm?
If the new leaves formed there they could be sunburned.

The only other thing I could think of was too much fert as it it appears they don't suffer from too little.
Could it be a salt build up?

I don't work w/ these much anymore.
We have a south facing, winter dry, hot spot and they just winter over in the ground.
Originally planted in pure compost and leaf litter.
They just come up and do their thing.
I fertilize about every week w/ a weak solution.

After work I was looking at them. One pot looks alot better then it did a few days ago. The one I am more concerned about was the last one to come up and has always been a little smaller, now it is still looking more yellow but at least no worse then before.I tried to give them plenty of time to aclimate to any new settings as they were started in the garage during winter and was moved out slowly. I think I am too cautious with them and too concerned as my neighbor has some and just puts pot outside come spring and cuts tops off in fall and moves them inside to laundry room and qiutes watering them. I do not even think they give any type of plant food or such.

Thanks for at least responding I will keep an eye on them but maybe back off from smothering them and see what happens.
