Why is my patty pan squash turning green?

Pleasant Hill, CA(Zone 9b)

I began to notice a few days ago that my patty pan squash is getting light green streaks in it (stem end). The blossom end has always had a bit of green. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Which cultivar? Yellow squash in general ( crooknecks, straighnecks, zucchini, patty pans) are subject to Cucumber mosaic which causes green mottling. Yours does not appear to have that. Some of the yellow scallops ( Sunburst, Flying Saucer) have a lot of green on them naturally. Even if it is cucumber mosaic, it only deters from the cosmetic aspects of the fruit.

When I grew yellow zucchini, it started out bright yellow but got greener as the season went on.
