Here is the green one my daughter spotted this morning.

Here is the brown one I spotted among the dry leaves. It stayed as I lifted the leaf to picture in good light. Which are these two?

The green one is a long-horned grasshopper (Orthoptera: Tettigoniidae), of a type known here as a katydid; the brown one is a short-horned grasshopper (Orthoptera: Acrididae).
