My cats and dogs have always gotten along well, but Samson and Pedro seem to have a very special relationship. Pedro is very hard of hearing and does not always respond when I call him. If Samson hears me calling Pedro's name, he goes and finds him and brings him to me. I really appreciated this since Pedro likes to fall asleep under the leaves of hostas or daylilies and being such a little guy, it can take me a long time to find him in my jungle. Samson always seems proud of himself when he comes walking towards me with Pedro following. Pedro also has a problem when his hair is longer with branches getting tangled in his hair. He gets really scared and just freezes when he thinks a branch is "chasing him". If I look out the window and notice Samson sitting right beside Pedro giving me the "Come help this dog" look, I know I need to go untangle the poor dog. Last night I was out for while and came home to find the pair of them curled up together in Pedro's bed. I don't think either of them liked all the noise from the fire crackers and were cuddling up for comfort.
