white squash

Saint Louis, MO

I grow vegetables from seed and every once in a while i get a different variety of seed in with what I thought I was getting. This year I have a white squash, at least I think that's what it is. It vines like a cucumber but looks like a zucchini but it's white.

I have never grown a white squash before and I don't know how to cook it. What can I make with it? Any recipes or ideas? Thanks

Squash come in all colors, so that is immaterial. The fact that it is vining rather than bush, would indicate that it is probably intended as a winter squash. Another option would be a cucuzzie, which can be identified because it has white blossoms.

One of my summer squashes is wanting to vine: the Tatume is described as vining, but I didn't notice that part of the description when I planted it.

I've never heard of a cucuzzie. This has yellow flowers and is vining everywhere. I'll take a picture and post. Now I'm really unsure of what it is

Here is a picture It's vining in both directions about 4 feet

It sure looks like a squash of some sort. Try sautéing some and see what you think.
