The deal is there's a bride that wants this exact bouquet. This is actually a teleflora ad, but of course, they don't actually sell this bouquet they've so conveniently pictured in their ad. And once a bride sees something like this, you know she is determined to have it.
I'm looking for a filler flower to replace what's shown here. They're manipulated a lilac but we all know lilacs don't grow exactly like this, at least none that I've seen.
Can you think of any other filler flower that would be this purple color and still give an open and airy look to the bouquet. I don't think wax flower is going to work exactly as she wants.
Flower suggestions needed
Hi Gwen, How about stocks? they have the shape and I have seen them in that purple colour, fragrant too.
We're looking for something that's more like a filler flower. The ones in the picture are really tiny florets, spread around to give a light and airy look.
I love stock, tho. And yum on the fragrance!
What about statice? that could be manipulated.
Possibly. I'll suggest that to them - thanks!
Gwen - there is a variety of statice - some more feathery than others. But as Terri says, they do have a nice purple.
Hi Gwen, How's it going? do you know what flowers to use yet?
It was actually for a friend of mine who's doing the bouquet. Someone sent me a link to a type of hydrangea that looks to be identical to the flowers in the photos. http://www.joycreek.com/294-004D4.htm She was going to phone the wholesaler and see if she could get this.
Hi Gwen, Oh good, glad you found a solution.
There are ex floral designers that lurk here but never post. Lucky you!
