Do you remember this one???

I posted this picture about a month ago I think. It's one of the new hibbies I ordered from Matt at The Hibiscus Place. I'm really into pinks.

Now check out the bloom I snapped on this same hibbie this morning.

Wow what a change in the colors; so much more vibrant. I was amazed. I'm not used to all these color changes on the same plant being new to tropical hibiscus.

Just love em!!!!!

I remember Patty. That's your baby named "Twilight Mist"!!! You're always going to see some variation in coloring on most of them. That's what makes it so interesting. If I had to guess I would say you took that photo mid to late morning? It's just an educated guess due to the deep colors in the photo.

I want to say it was around 9:30 a.m.

Yep, that's when the colors are amazing and so bright. Did you leave the bloom outside or did you bring it inside for all day enjoyment?

I brought it inside so I could look at it all day. Have another TM bloom this morning and it is sitting on the bar along with a nice Peace Train flower. I do like both of these hibbies. I've been a little disappointed in Wisdom. It's the light purple one. The blooms look more gray and they are small. I am hoping that the flowers will be prettier when it's not quite so hot. Still wait on DaVinci and Sorority Girl to open.

Hi Patty

Hang in there with "Wisdom" and give it some time. Sometimes you'll even get a phase where the blooms are about 1/3 or 1/4 of what they should be. It's just a temporary phase. This photo from today of Hibiscus "White Magic" shows what I mean. This bloom is only about 2 or 3 inches across and its usually 6-7 inches in diameter. The issue usually corrects itself within a month or so. I'm not familiar with Hibiscus "Wisdom". Is it supposed to be a large bloom or is it a miniature? I'm not sure whether you know it or not, but there are "miniature" hibiscus hybrids that always have small sized blooms. Although they are smaller blooms in size the advantage is that they tend to produce more buds...thus blooming more frequently.
Da Vinci blooms have always varied for me. The size of the bloom is pretty consistent. It's the coloration that can vary quite a bit. Sometimes they are very pink with some purple and sometimes they are very purple with some pink. Either way, they're still nice looking.

They sure look like differrent hibs, if you wouldn't have said it I wouldn't have know it's the same gorgeous hib, hope your other hib bloom as beautiful as this one has Patty.
