Here are some photo's of Tahitian Queen
Tahitian Queen
Nice bloom and it sure is a big one with great form. Xenia, Ohio rings a bell in my head. I keep thinking I recall a very bad tornado hitting that town in the 1970's? I'm not sure why I would remember something like that from so many years ago considering I've never been in that area. Am I correct?
Jon
Thanks Jon,
You are right a tornado hit Xenia in 74, I didn't live in Ohio then I lived in Jacksonville FL, my wife is from Ohio she lived about 40 miles away, she was 7 when it hit, she remembers it. We have lived here in Xenia for 2 years now, and the area we live in was completly wiped out. And they had another one hit around the same area in 2001, not as bad. The one that hit in 74 I think was a F5 killed around 36 people
Here is a picture of a street that is one over from us in 74
Where are you purchasing your Tahitian cultivars from? I've seen them on Tried and True's online site, but they were already out of stock by the time I saw them. They sure are pretty.
Wow. I knew it. I've only seen the Tahitian cultivators on triedandtrue also. I do recall Richard Johnson (the Tahitian hybridizer) would occasionally offer some of his hibiscus varieties for seed purchase on E Bay. Does he still offer them?
Jon
That's where we bought it from was triedandtrue.
Stunning eye catcher!!!!
Richard Johnson has some seed up right now.....

Thanks for the info Dave
yes, we noticed the seeds for sale also, if you can afford them. Last week he had a couple sets of 5 seeds that went for over $90.00
That's insane. I would never pay that kind of money for 5 seeds.
