I managed five rotten shots of this large bird of prey being driven off by a couple of Australian Ravens. However, I'll post them on the off chance there may be some identifying features. I thought at first it might be a Square-tailed Kite, but the tail looks a bit too rounded and it appeared to be a bit bigger than the STK.
CLOSED: I'm stumped
