Hi everybody. I'm not a regular here, but I thought I would stop by and ask if there is anyone in the central Ohio area who would like to rescue an abandoned goose.
There is a small retaining pond on an industrial back street in Grove City, Ohio, and someone has left a white goose there. I think from looking at pictures that it is a White Swan Goose, or Chinese Goose. It appeared there in the spring with some Canada Geese, but the flock has moved on and it is now completely alone. I don't think it can fly.
I know from observing the domestic ducks at our local park that the tame ducks and geese don't do too well when the cold weather arrives, unless they have some help. Also, this guy looks kind of lonely now that his wild family has left him. Is there anyone out there who might like to trap this goose and take him in? Or is there some organization that might help him?
Here is a map of the area in Grove City where the goose is. He is living in the pond on Farm Bank Way, behind the strip mall and just west of the Wendys/Tim Hortons on Broadway. D-mail me if you have any questions. :)
Oooops! Forgot the map! http://www.mapquest.com/maps?city=Grove+City&state=OH&zipcode=43123#a/maps/l:::Grove+City:OH:43123:US:39.8785:-83.0812:zip:Franklin+County:1/m:hyb:13:39.89102:-83.088292:0:::::/io:0:::::f:EN:M:/e
