First and only seed pod has finally opened!

Do I need to wait or can I plant some right away?
Any way to tell if there viable?

Out of the pod!

Give them a little squeeze; if they are viable the end with the visible germ has some thickness to it. If they are completely flat you can safely toss them.

What variety did this come from?

Oh and you can plant any time.

Came from an unknown red flowering one with a spicy aroma,and I only had a white and yellow in flower next to it,it has a fruity aroma.yes there is some flat and some with thickness to them didn't count how many,will try to when I plant some up tomorrow.
