This picture was taken on July 26. We have had this Amerillas for many years and it has allway bloomed in the spring and it allways put on more and more blooms every year this year it must have thought we needed more and bloomed again. Considering we are in a drought and temps have been around 100 deg. I was amazed

My Amaryllis bloomed in early April, and that was it. The blooms looked good only for a few days, then kinda went downhill. I've never heard of them bloom midsummer. I wonder if you should ask in the Amaryllis forum? Just glancing over the forum there, it appears that some plant as late as April and get them blooming in June.

Some varieties bloom after spring. San Antonio Rose is one. Mine just finished and might bloom again during the summer. Your Amaryllis looks like one of the Dutch hybrids and I have never had them bloom except in spring.

Thank you for your replies and the polite help with the spelling I am fairly new to the flowering end of gardening that was allways my wifes thing I was into veggy gardens but as I am about to retire I have fallen for the relaxing and rewarding flowering gardening. I built a greenhouse for my wife to help her with direct sunlight (she gets skin cancers ) now I am not happy unless I am elbow deep in dirt. we have a few amerylis and this is the oldest . The blooms don't last long but they are a rich shade when they are blooming.
