Hoya speckled obovata

Cape Coral, FL(Zone 10a)

I have 3 leaves that are heart shape on my speckled obovata. If I cut that segment, re root, will the plant be heart shape?

Wow! I don't know the answer to your question but that is one Gorgeous obovata!

I second that, Lin. What a gorgeous plant!! One of my publicalyx got a double leaf and I rooted the section but it didn't hold true. I just got another Pink Silver publicalyx. It was fun to try, tho.

What pretty leaves and the heart shaped ones are awesome. I would try anyway to root them.....fun experiment!!

My obovata has leaves that are not completely round, sometimes they get leaves that look heartshaped. I think its just a normal genetic variation

I remember seeing on a website somewhere (and of course I can't remember where) a picture of a "speckled kerri" that looked almost exactly like your speckled heart shaped leaves...I know that kerri and obovata are closely related and wonder if the speckled kerri was, in fact, an obovata with heart shaped leaves...interesting...and I agree; try rooting it and see if it stays true...very nice!

How lovely!! Yes, a few of my obovata leaves have that heart shape as well. But the speckles are just gorgeous. A definite must-have.

I have a very speckled-leaf H. obovata and I have found this plant to be a very fast grower. I think I need to put the plant on a much more sturdy trellis.

Thanks everyone for your compliments, I am not sure about experimenting with the cutting yet. I am going to put this plant on a trellis soon because it is getting big.
