I had some other photo's from spring that I wanted to share, if I have the wrong ID on any please correct me. ;)
Canada Goose
Some Photo's I wanted to share before I joined DG
Great shots Burd! Thanks so much for posting them!
Thank you for sharing your photos!
You are very gifted with the camera.
That looks like a large snake!
Great pictures.
I also love the wood thrush. They sing as we walk in the woods. How beautiful. Never was able to get a picture though. Great job.
I guess there is more to Sandusky than Cedar Point. LOL
Beautiful shots Burd...so glad you shared the great variety you have!
PS...that is a big snake!!
"Northern Water Thrush" - not quite sure what this is, but not Northern Waterthrush
"Yellow-rumped Warbler" - female American Redstart

Great shots!
the Hackster, that's me - my Harley Road King has a sidecar, which is called a hack, thus my friends call me the Hackster - the one-legged, bird watching, Harley riding guy.
Some great birds, burd! I take and post my share of feeder shots, but I especially enjoy the pics of different birds doing what they do, like the vulture.
I have some bird and non-bird nature pics on Flickr. I add to them from time to time. I just put 3 Whitetail pics on. They are at http://www.flickr.com/photos/reddirtpics/ .
I'm sitting on the patio this a.m. enjoying a cool front and a little rain after a week of 100+ temps. A couple of juve Orioles have hit the feeder while I've been out here. Good to know we have a new crop.
The boss says we need to take a walk since it's stopped raining.
...Later.
Thx all! The snake was about 6ft. The Vulture ate the entire contents of the snake and only left skin and bones, almost kinda surgical really. Thank's Resin for the correction's. On the N. Water Thrush, I heard the the song's of a Thrush, and the Refuge I was at, said the area contained N. Water Thrush's, so I just threw the name with the picture, but the more I look at the bird I,m leaning toward's maybe a type of Vireo? Reddirt, I take picture's of everything that move's sometime's lol. I have a few whitetail picture's but only does. Squirrel's are kinda comical so they get a lot of picture's and my dad love's the picture's of squirrel's more than bird's. Of course Mom like's every photo I take and keep's everything I send her. lol I'm including my odd ball picture of the year, we all know this is a birding forum but I wanted to share this photo.
Great photos and a wonderful variety. Love that "odd ball" picture too!!
The "Odd Couple" in the odd ball photo is LOL!
Burd, Is the cat a feral one?
I would not know if it's feral but it better stay out of my yard. He's been hunting around the neighborhood and has killed a few small cottontail's "just for fun of course as Cat's do" Grrrr! Haven't seen him with a bird yet, and he better hope I dont.;)
Thanks for an interesting thread, Burd. There are two or three I've not heard of previously.
I,m not sure on what a Feral Cat should look like
Same as a house cat, except it won't respond to "here, puss, puss, come and get tickled under your chin" ;-)

Wow, the 'brown' animal looks very much like a beaver to me, except they don't usually come out until dark. Burd, wonderful pictures, thank you for sharing.
Lily, it's a groundhog, quite common in the Northeast. They resemble beavers because the are also members of Rodentia, which includes squirrels, prairie dogs, etc.
They all share distinctive, powerful front teeth. The groundhog population has actually increased (in some areas) over 200 years, because they feed on green grass (lawns), and suburban fences protect them from foxes; also the advent of leash laws keeps them from being "supper" for dogs.
They are also called "woodchucks."
Dah! I should have recognized him for he does look like Phil in Groundhog Day. lol. Thanks BostonArea_6A.
{Off-topic from Bird Watching}
When they were making that film, the groundhog bit Bill Murray's finger down to the bone!
Now that's suffering for your art! Great film, btw.

I do love your sense of humor and no BS answers. You do know your stuff.
Danea
Resin lol. Correct on the Ground Hog,or Wood Chuck, or a Whistle Pig around these part's.
Is that where ground chuck comes from?
Only if you're on a really tight budget.
;)
