Is the a Scarlet Tanager?

Joshua, TX

If the other is a summer tanager, then this one would be a scarlet tanager? It's not the best picture, but it was really far away.

Another Summer Tanager

Scarlet Tanager has black wings (not red), and is also only in TX on spring and fall passage, they're further north (northeast OK northward) in summer.

Oh... okay.. it looks to me like he/she has more black on it's wings than the other bird??? You're probably right though, I'm new at all of this.

I see, thank you. They are some really beautiful birds.

The beak looks red in this picture. Summer Tanagers have yellow beaks.
