And part of the "barnyard" looking to the rose arches. The arches were just planted last year. In another two years or so, hoping the climbing roses, clematis, cinnamon yam, etc will cover the structure.

Very beautiful,Betty.
Have you added any new herbs lately?

Middleburgh, NY

Let's see, Himalayan Valerian (Valeriana jatamansii) - cause my other one did not make it through our rough winter; Provencal Thyme, Mastic Thyme, Moujean Tea, Samphire, Lemon Meringue Scented Geranium, Habek Mint and a few others. We also added more blueberries, some boysenberries, aronia, musk strawberries, more apples (cider varieties), a few more grapes, etc. I need to update my master list of plants. Bleah!

Thanks for the kind words. We just got back from a trip to Vermont and New Hampshire. Rained every single day! But, why would it be different than what it has done here in upstate NY? Glub, glub.

Yes the rain has been going on now for about three weeks Yuck.I had so many plants, to plant and tons of yard work to do.

What are musk strawberries ?

Middleburgh, NY

Well, there are small alpine strawberries and there are large cultivated strawberries and then there are somewhere-in-the-middle musk strawberries. I have read descriptions of the flavor (but have never had any!!!!) and of the ambrosia-like quality. So, I ordered some and started a small bed of them. I hope next year to wax poetic on the flavor!

Thanks, will be looking forward to a report on taste, may just have to have some.
I just read a bit on them said you have to have male and female plants? can you tell the differance? do both produce?

Middleburgh, NY

I read the same about male and female and ordered one male and a harem of females. Don't think I'm getting strawberries from them this year, as it is the first year for them.
