Need advise on greenery dying. The picture shows the agapanthus, my dwarf nandinia's are doing the same thing.

It could be the heat, and maybe they need more water?
I suppose you are not overwatering, check your soil down to 6 inches, and see if it is dry or moist.
Josephine.
Mine is doing the same thing. I think it is just the constant and unforgiving heat. I know that I am not overwatering. I think if we could get to some normally hot temperatures, everything would look better.
That looks like sunscorch to me. Triple digit heat will do that :)
I was going to suggest putting something in front of it to shade it from the intense heat we've been having. I think everything is suffering!
mine looks the same. in fact...I am going to have to pull some stuff out tomorrow that just didn't make it. I have been diligent in my watering but we have been recording 102-104 every day with no rain. our county just went under a burn ban...that is how long it has been since we have had rain. hard to believe it is only june. what are july and august going to be like?
Lizzie~I really don't want to think about that. While we've had more rain than many parts of the state, we're still hurting for it and I really don't want to think about the fire hazards.
I wouldn't uproot anything but the annuals. The perennials should make a recovery unless the root system wasn't established. It seems really hard to provide adequate moisture without rain. Every growing season is a challenge but we keep being optimistic and swinging at it! lol
I had planted some things late(because of late freezes) and their root systems were not established. those came out as did some annuals. there are a couple of beds that get nearly all day sun. it has just been a hard year. we have had 2 hail storms...one that lasted over 20 minutes...straight line winds...a tornado...late freezes...and now the heat/no rain. It is a good thing we gardeners are an ever optimistic, hardy bunch, lol.
I agree Lizzie this has been a tough year but I am optamistic it rained hear for about 20 minutes yesterday and the cracks in the yard never changed. I had 80 pines cut off my land last year and have replaced them with all kinds of assorted little trees this year so it has been a struggle trying to keep them alive in this drought and excessive heat. But such is life in the great state of Texas.
I'd definitely say sun scorch. It's just these super hot temps and blistering sun causing the problem. Mine are well watered and are doing the same thing. Acutally, agapanthas don't like wet feet and need well draining soil, but if it were too wet they'd be rotting off at the soil level. Too dry would look more wilted. I have them in a couple of locations and the ones slightly shaded are fine, the full sun ones look just like yours. They'll recover though.
