Thanks .. just sorry I couldn't stay til the "finish". That green on the wings in unreal .. almost looks like one of those toy insects.

That's what I was thinking, it looks like a fake insect. The colors are cool. Really nice picture.

When I was a kid, in the summer I'd go out in the backyard at night with a flashlight to try to find cicadas emerging and crawling up the trees to molt and emerge. It was so cool to watch them pop out of the shell and pump up their wings. (Back then we didn't have video games or internet so we had to find other ways to amuse ourselves :)

You know, Tom, I was listening to the Cicadas last night and wondering how they can be so loud, yet I can't see them at all. Never occurred to me to shine a light up the tree! LOL. I need to think like a kid!

I've been seeing lots of "shells" over the past week or so, but would so love to see what you saw, X.

I'd love to see one unfurl its wings .. I'm so disappointed I missed that!

That is so cool. I've always wanted to see one popping out of the old skin. It's raining a bit outside so I may go get the flashlight and see what I can round up. I put my windows up last night just so I could hear them. Lulled me right off to sleep. Upstate SC is all abuzz with them right now.
