Hi I was wondering if anyone has ever thought of gathering from their property and selling. I have alot of young maples, pretty much seedlings, lilacs, some other shrubbery, and wild roses that were actually gathered from a ditchline several years ago, and more that have come from here or there. I know that i could safely say that i have appx 20-40 young rose bushes. I am looking for a way to make money to purchase an inverter that i despertely need and thought perhaps i could sell some. Oh and some young pear seedlings. anyone ever done this before?

bluegray ~ You might try it and see. You will have the expense of pots and soil and packaging too if you should sell them thru the Marketplace. You might try an at home garage type of sale and see what your success is to begin with.
I suspect it can be done but if it is like this area ~ what I find growing freely grows freely for everyone. That really kills the market. If you should try to market them outside your locale, it may be difficult as those plants are indigenous to your area. Good luck, pod
thank you, i will give it a try this fall or early spring. seems to me most folks would rather buy somewhere then invest in gathering. :)
People in Houston told us we needed to carry native Texas plants at the nursery here in East Texas. Sounded good so we tried it. Unfortunately we over looked one little thing … Native Texas Plants here in East Texas are called WEEDS. I still have customers bring that little blunder up from time to time.
If you are going to sell Native Plants you need to do it somewhere they don’t grow. Like in the city.
