I found this spider in my house and I need to know what kind it is. Also if it is harmful.

A black and brown a gray/white spider found in my house
I believe that this spider is a Selenops spp. in the family Selenopidae - see http://tinyurl.com/ml7jxl for an example. They commonly are known as wall crab spiders or flat spiders and are harmless to humans.
