I hope someone can suggest small growing Rex Begonias to me. I have a small apartment with not alot of plant space, so I want the small rex only. (Are there small angel-wings?) Many of the mail-order places do not mention sizes of the plants, and I know some get quite large. These are for indoors only. Thanks much, Patricia

Regal minuet and Antoon's Mini Merry are small. If you like rhizomatous ones bowerae nigramarga is tiny and so are its relatives Little darlin and mini-eyelash

Thanks for your recommendations! I have been looking at the Rex Begonias on both Rob's Violets and Lyndon Lyon's websites. Gorgeous, and I think they are all the smaller indoors type ones. Any idea what this one is? Its the only begonia I have so far. ChuLin

The picture is just a thumbnail. Hard to ID it from that.

Some of the begonias from Rob's are not miniature - the can grow to be medium size (leaves 4 to 6 inches across). A lot of begonias can be kept small though by keeping them in a very small pot. For instance I have Black Coffee in a Solo rinse cup (2 oz?) and has been in the same cup for years. The same plant can easily fill a 12 inch pot as well.

Hello ChuLin

Here are more small ones: Tiny Gem, looks like a small "angel wing" type. Red Planet, Little Red, Five-n-Dime, Small Change, China Doll, Bethlehem Star. Kartuz has a category of just small and mini begonias. Check Lauray of Salisbury and Logees. Begonia you have pictured could be "Vista" from Rob's Violets. Just a guess. Good Luck!
