I would love to have some water hyacinths & anacharis if anyone is planning on throwing extras on the compost. I have two water gardens. I can pay postage or we can try to work out a trade.

wanted water hyacinths & anacharis
Hi there I have anacharis, I could send you a piece. I am also looking for water hyacinth. Maybe you have some other cool pond plants?
Hey you guys, I have water hyacinth also. Flower, you got some coming.
What can I say; perfectomento!
Flower: being in my zone nothing winters here in my ponds is why I have nothing to trade. I have to get new plants every year. I had a local greenhouse that sold all them until the owner died last winter and they shut the greenhouse down. :(
mecos: I checked your want list and came up with zilch for you. is there something you would like to trade for them (other than pond plants... :D) such as postage (postage to cover your mailing cost plus to cover the plants). or I'm open to suggestions.
Give me to monday after the fourth and I'll try to get you some sent out. D-mail me and remind me around then. I have several. I'm just worried about shipping in this heat and if it will arrive ok.
mekos Sounds good. I was also thinking about the heat. I know here in missouri it is supposed to be cooler all this week, not sure about where you are located.
OK, send me your address and I'll try to get them out today. Maybe they will be ok. Send ME a d-mail with your info.

Water hyacinth & water lettuce are illegal to possess in Florida.
OK, flower, won't send them. Didn't know about that. Will ship everything else though. The plumerias are doing good. The name of one is celadine and another ir more white with strong gardenia fragrance. And one is planted from seed and no telling what color it will be. Hope you like them, and sorry for the water plants. Is it legal for lbmoore?
No. Anyplace that pretty much has long freezes is OK. It is highly invasive otherwise.
Bummer about the water hyacinth. Didn't know they were illegal to own. Just thought you had to be real careful with them. LBMoore, did you take a look at my want list? (other than pond plants, I mean? hihi)
Froukje
Froukje I did look at your list. I don't have anything you are looking for. :(
Bummer :(
I'm going on a trip, let's talk when I get back, ok?
flowerehj: sounds good, look forward to it! :)
Lbmoore, I sent you some water hyacinth and a tiny water selery and a little bit of water duck weed. My water hyacinths were blooming today and they were so pretty. You should have them in a few days. Hope they arrive safely. If there is anything there you don't want, just compost it or trade it off.
mekos you are wonderful! I was just looking around for some water celery! I love duck weed also. Thank you so much for sharing.
You are so welcome. I have another thing , I don't know what it is called and only a small amount right now, but it looks like a skeleton under the water. It's really neat. A spiney plant. It's so lacy and dainty looking but got to find the name for it to see if it's ok for growing and won't take over. I like it anyway, but before I'd share got to find out about it.
Mekos: Have you posted a pic of it on here? Maybe somebody knows what it is.
OK. I got an ID on ALL the plants. The ones I sent you are- Azolla filiculoides-water fern, and Spirodela polyrhiza- duck weed, and the water hyacinth, and the one spiney thing(I didn't know what was and didn't send you) is a- Najas guadalupensis, southern naiad. So now you have the names of all that and would suggest you trade off some duck weed more often so it doesn't take up all the room from the water fern. I like the water fern better, but the duck weed multiplies quicker.Fish like to eat the duck weed too so if you have fish they can help you out. You will know the water fern, it darker green and frilly. Stays very small. Look in this picture, it has the duckweed and the water fern.
Yes, duckweed has three leaves, and the water fern looks more like a snowflake, but green.
OK, now i'm all confused again, when they get to you just tell me what they are and we'll all know. I know one is water hyacinth.
meko: I didnt mean to confuse you. sorry :) The big difference between azolla and duck weed is duck weed has a smooth surface. The azolla (we call it fairy moss around here) is textured (bumpy). Both are small. The frogbit's surface is smooth and they are usually dime to nickel in size.
They all are fun to grow though!
