Photos needed for Plant Files Pages

Robertstown, Australia(Zone 10a)

I am re-posting this list for those readers who aren't following the main "Hoyas in the DG Plant Files" thread here: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/993826/

Hoya affinis Needs photos of overall habit, close- ups of leaves and flowers.
Hoya albiflora Needs photos of overall habit, close- ups of leaves and flowers.
Hoya aldrichii Needs a good close up of the flower
Hoya archboldiana x onychoides Needs a couple of good leaf photos - one for overall habit, one close up
Hoya ariadna Needs photos of overall habit, close- ups of leaves and flowers.

Can any of you photographers out there who have these particular species check your photos and see if you have anything suitable for these gaps in the Plant Files pages. Remember it's not hard to do and it adds a great deal to the Plant Files presentation.

Ciao, KK.

KK:

I wish I had some of those particular Hoya's but unfortunately I don't. I'm sure a few of the real collector's out there in DG land have them and will upload photo's. Maybe I can help out a little by giving the PF link for each of them so you don't have to do so much searching.

Hoya affinis: http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/82662/
Hoya albiflora: http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/73743/
Hoya aldrichii: http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/82653/
Hoya archboldiana x onychoides: http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/101452/
Hoya ariadna: http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/164433/

I know most of us know how to add photo's to the Plant Files database but just in case someone is new and has never done it, it's really easy.

To upload your photo, just scroll down to the bottom of the page of the plant in question, look for the heading YOUR ACTIONS and the second item is: "Upload an image of this plant", click on that and it will give instructions for uploading. Your photo's won't show up right away, they are put in a queque by Admin. until they get a chance to review and add them to the database.

I will try to get the photos up....the ones I have...

Robertstown, Australia(Zone 10a)

Thanks for doing that Lin, I should have thought of that! I would add the following info for any "newbies" out there - When you are doing the caption for your photo, READ it CAREFULLY before you hit the submit button - I have let a few embarrassing typos through in my time!

Also, to Carol, the "ones you have" will be wonderful, I'm sure! After reading SRQHoyas lovely visit thread, I am quite envious of your life and surroundings (and Hoyas, LOL!). My only problem would be the ambient humidity levels, they would knock me flat on my back with breathing problems, so I'll have to admire from afar.

I think you are doing a great job KK.

I will be able to add the following:
Hoya affinis close- ups of leaves.
Hoya albiflora close- ups of leaves .
Hoya archboldiana x onychoides Needs a couple of good leaf photos - one for overall habit, one close up

Actually I have aff. albiflora...I'll check out PF to see exactly how that one is entered.

Hi Joni,
Can you hold off on the aff. albiflora for a bit - we haven't quite yet got a structure for Plant Files to cope with the aff. and sp. taxa just yet. The others will be great I'm sure. I hope to be sorting out some new species listings in a week or so, as soon as I finish tidying up my current batch of notes from IPNI. I got a great DMail back from Mark, with just the info I wanted to double check.

I so would love to live someplace where it's warm year round but with low humidity, I wonder if there is such a place! The older I get the more the high humidity gets to me. Check out this chart showing our relative humidity on average: http://www.cityrating.com/cityhumidity.asp?City=Daytona+Beach

Our t.v. news channels are broadcasting heat advisories. The high today is supposed to be 96ºF with heat index making it feel like 102-105 and tomorrow is supposed to be even worse with a high of 99ºF, breaking a record from back in 1944. Even with the Atlantic breezes it's still too hot! I am so thankful for air conditioning!

edited to say: Oops, Sorry about posting this here ... forgot what thread I was on, we were discussing the heat and humidity on another thread/forum.
