Is this true carnosa?

Got this one as motoskei but I don't think so. The leaves are too pointy for that. It smells like carnosa.

Beautiful plant! Looks like other photo's I've seen identified as carnosa ... one of mine included! I'm still waiting for mine to bloom!

Thanks Lin, hope yours bloom soon.

Definitely not H. motoskei...it is H. carnosa.

Does anyone have a photo of Motoskei? I've been wondering what the foliage looks like on that one. I thought I remembered someone posting a photo awhile back but it might have just been a regular carnosa.

Beautiful! So, it looks like the leaves are wider/fatter than carnosa? What's the one up above and behind motoskei?

Lin, I think motoskei is carnosa too but I'll let the experts answer.
One above motoskei is H. mathilde. I love mathilde, the leaves are small and succulent. The flowers are large for it's size and really cute. Fragrant too.

I think I remember reading here on DG that motoskei is THE original carnosa ... where all the gazillions of other carnosa's originated from? But, I too will wait for one of the pro's to answer cause sometimes ... ok, well a lot of times ... actually MOST of the time ... if I don't remember to write it down, I will forget exactly what was said! ^_^

I do write stuff down all the time ... then forget where I put my note and have to shuffle through tons of papers trying to find it!

Oh, I write it down and then later I look at it and ask, "What in the #$!! does that mean?"

I can't answer the question. I kinda have it in my head but when I write it down it doesn't look correct. Too many facts, too small a brain!
