Zicam and loss of smell

Hi ya'll, Guess everyone's heard about the 130-some people who've reported losing their sense of smell since using Zicam over the past 10 years. Seems that they're taking it off the market. Yikes--I've used it several times a year to stop a cold in its tracks. As far as I know I've experienced no smell loss. Odd too, since I've heard that zinc, the main Zicam ingredient, actually helps the sense of smell, at least according to the late nutritionist Adelle Davis.
Any thoughts on any of this? Would you quit using it?
