Easiest time to relocate rhubarb?

I have some big plants to move, when is the best (easiest for me) time and way to move them?

I would think the easiest time would be at the end of summer when it has died back some.
Some farmers would run a plow through the rhubarb bed to divide it after the season. I plan on dividing mine with a spade and expanding my bed when the summer cools off.
You can also wait until it starts coming up in spring, but you will probably miss a good crop while it adjusts.
