This has been a very frustrating year for weather. I seeded way too much and also had a huge backyard project when we took the trampoline out. Here's a little tour of the yard

Absolutely adorable..could just see myself enjoying the ambiance of your gardens...thanks for sharing..
I like your new sitting area. What's under the swing, some type of linoleum or ...? Also, love the idea of a butterfly garden next to your sitting area in your Pink & Purple pic. In the elevated terra cotta pot, are there planting pockets? What do you have planted in it?
Sandy
Thanks,
The carpet is from Walmart and it a large outdoor mat. Grass does not grow thru it & it is a lot cleaner too.
The side hole pot has dble rose portulaca. I think it will great in bloom. The pot is called bloom master. It is ok for impatiens in a shaded area, but petunias in full sun did not do well. It's hard to water well even with a water tube in the middle. I think the portulaca should be ok since it can handle being dry.
Your garden and whole yard are a tremendous inspiration.
I am wondering how you plant and water those boxes on your house?
They seem quite high off the ground?
OH Joanne - I got reminded of something you told me when I visited your garden - MUST have rain barrel UP very high in order to use the gravity to actually water the garden. Guess I should have put it on a pedestal BEFORE it filled up 4/5 of water siiiiiiiiiiiiigh.
Now I have the rain barrel on the ground and I'll need to empty it by pitcher (but try not to fall in when it gets low) OR open the spigot and water my Hen & Chicks garden lol

Joanne - your yard has blossomed tremendously! Yours and your DH's hard work is sure "telling"!
Everytime I've been to your yard, I think "this is so restful, I'll find it hard to tear myself away........"
Beautiful!
btw - why did you cut down the mock orange? Will it come back next year?
Your yard is amazing, Joanne. So colorful, and beautifully arranged.

Enjoyed your pics, Joanne. Just lovely. OMG, Todd looks like a little cuddle-muffin!
Sandy
Great pix Joanne! Todd the cuddle-muffin, I love it! He really is a cuddle-muffin. I'm always tempted to scoop him up and take him home with me when ever I'm visiting Joanne. LOL. He's the nicest pom I've ever met.

Jo-north - I know just what you mean!!! Todd is adorable and, as I said - Poms are my favourite types of dogs.
