Kitten cries when I leave the house

Has anyone ever had a kitten, well she's nearly a year old now, that would cry when you leave the house? I rescued a kitten at 4 weeks from a little old lady who had no idea what to do with it. She was feeding it sardines for food. It was a bit... hyper/scaredy cat/just flat out insane cat when I got it. She wouldn't let anyone but me near her. She's so attached & attached from the start very badly, if i go outside, she follows from window to window to door crying & talking to me, if I leave the house she drives my mom insane sitting at the door for the next 30 minutes crying, sounds just like a baby. after roughly 30 minutes she stops & goes to the window to watch for me. She doesn't always meet me at the door now but she's usually perched somewhere she can see me. If its going to storm I can't even begin to move around the house for her being on my shoulder, on my lap, on my computer desk. If I'm home, she must be where I'm at. She doesn't bother me so much other than breaking my heart when i hear her cry. Mostly I'm asking if there's anything i can do bc she drives my mom insane when i leave for the weekend. She's really calmed down.. not so much living up to her name of Twitch anymore unless it is stormy of course. Then she really does bounce off the walls.
