I must admit these flowers fascinate amaze me .. they aren't called "wax plant" for nothing. I only have one and it lives in my greenhouse. Since space is limited in there for wintering over things, I have resisted really getting in to hoya and it's been hard.

So could you please tell me if this is Hoya carnosa and if it is a specific cultivar?

Also, I have a 5.6 meg file of the extreme close up. Here is the link if you'd like to take a look:

Thanks!

Yes it looks identical. Do you know the name of the cultivar?

As far as I know it is just the original H. carnosa...from before they started playing with cultivars of it.

You're welcome! That plant of mine is a good 25 years old and still going strong.

Yes, thanks.... 3Gs is smack on! I was thinking a bit it might be H. motoskei...but you have a lovely carnosa!

Thanks! The structures of this flower are amazing .. I didn't realize how amazing until I looked at the extreme close up. The "petals" look like plush material.

Delightful to see your Hoya has done well. It is now officially time to step off the deep end and begin collecting. LOL They are lovely plants and very rewarding.

And we are very good enablers with lots of practice!!!

Puuuulllllleeeeeeze! Don't tempt me .. I'm at the point now where where I have to be very picky and choosy of plants that are not hardy in my zone .. my greenhouse just isn't big enough and I'm getting too old. There is going to be a big gh plant trade off very soon in my future .. there are so many things in there that, though pretty .. just have to go. The hoya isn't one of them though.

I do enjoy the one I have every time it blooms. I'll have to be content with it.

I find the Hoyas work well for me as they don't need tropical winter protection. Not to worry ~ as it keeps delivering those blooms you will be "charmed" into the Hoya vortex.

I am so glad you passed your test , threegardeners, ^_^
