Well, here they are. They've been going outside for about two weeks now and seem to be doing really well. We've been having such fun watching them. After work each night we rush through our various chores to get out to see the girls and Mr Chicken have a snack. Ahhhh, finally I have chickens!
My girls are growing up!
Terri, they look great! What kid are they? I can tell they haven't been going out for too long, you still have grass *G*.
Oh they look so curious it's like a whole new adventure for them i love watching them takeing their first steps in the big world.
Are those Buff Brahma's?
I love the Brahmas i have 10 Light Brahma they get so big so fast LOL
Yup, Buff Brahma's from Ideal. Ten of them just like you Harmonyplace. Wow, great minds think alike!
Thanks for the compliment LOL i do love the Brahma's
These are my first chickens. I have always wanted chickens. I had horses and dogs growing up but my parents would never let me have chickens as they said--and still insist--that chickens smell bad. Anyway, I'm finally to a point where I can have chickens and I picked Brahmas because they are said to be very friendly and I thought DH might get to be interrested in them as well.
I'm the same way i wanted ducks all my life my dad said they were messy all they did was eat and poop.
Then i have heard these years i have had chickens the same thing how messy they are and loud.
But for years i had always admired their beautiful colors and how friendly they were.
Well this year i decided to bite the bullet and try them and I just love them!!
They are free range and not messy i can't even find their poo in my yard LOL
Loud sort of at times but i don't mind i have 15 roosters that crow all day so whats a little funny quacking.
They are so interesting and fun i love to watch them swim and play in the water LOL
I could really kick myself for listening to others i think of all the years i could have been enjoying them ;o)
Well Terri it looks like your a big girl now, and yes you can have chickens. Looks like you made a good choice, and does it not feel great to be able to make your own decisions? How about Hubby? Is he catching the bug yet? I hope they bring you years of laughter and pleasure. Haystack.
Oh, they're so pretty. It seems like raising chickens can be a bit addictive, like chocolate or potatoe chips, you can't just have one.
Ha~Ha~Ha~Ha I agree 100%
lol, yes he is catching the bug! He wants to know how I'm going to get a rooster. I think I'm satisfied with the hens =).
And a couple of pea hens from Mr Chicken (the peacock).
And now his eternal obsession to build a retention pond behind my veggie garden (ongoing project in process) for irrigation has burgeoned into a duck or swan or goose pond. He can't decide.
I vote for the Duck pond he will love having Ducks LOL
