I have a hardy hibiscus that I planted last summer. It came up great this spring, grew like a weed and had 5 or 6 'stalks' on it. Very nice looking, and then we got a really BAD wind storm and the next morning, ALL of the stalks were broken off flat on the ground. They apparently have to be staked, I see now. Now that there is no leaves or stalks, will it die? I am hoping it will grow back from the roots, but without any tops to 'feed' it, won't it die?
Will it grow back this summer, or should it come up again next spring?
Please help! I don't know what to do!
storm damage, will it die?
I suspect it'll grow back--but really all you can do is wait and see. Some people's hardies don't even pop up until June so I think it'll still have time to grow back and bloom before cold weather comes.
don't really know but I think that if it was strong and healthy it will survive, I would fertilize her with MG 24-8-16 to give her a boost and give it a chase to see if she come out again before the end of summer, maybe somebody else can share some light on this matter.

I don't really give a hoot if it blooms, I just want it to come back at least next spring. I just don't want it to die on me :(
It was such a lovely one with purple leaves boo hooooo
