Well,
Its just hot and there is no other word to describe it except MISERABLE..... A few popped their pretty faces out today
Enjoy,
Creole Lady
Topping out at 5'8" or so. Still putting on a show.
A few from HOT MUGGY southeast texas 6-16
I'm really liking that Culture Shock...never seen it before. All are gorgeous!
Thanks Dee,
Culture Shock was a partner in the pod with Yoda. Brothers or sisters whichever it may be.
hmmmm add Yoda and Culture Shock to wish list...
I thought Yoda was a lot more yellow than your pic shows...good stuff!
I am suprised the colors are so vivid today as hot as it is. I expected all to be washed out.
Wow! Robert your hibs are outstandingly vivid colors today like you said, It's amazing how sometimes they seem to be more colorful someday then others, I love that deep brown your Black Jack has, Midnight Madness looks fantastic, 6th Dimension really looking vivid with those wonderful colors, Yoda
seems like if it was a totally different hib, the double blue seedling is one any body would want for their collection, Funny Voodoo is a must for any true collector list to have but that Culture Shock is breath taking, I have to agree with Dee, it is just outrageously gorgeous, a True winner for sure. Is this one of your creations, its a really must have.
Robert your bloom get better and better, thank for sharing your dream hibs photos with us, we really anjoy them,
Wilfred
Thanks wilfred,
I can only say that the seedling is mine. But I still love them all......
Robert, have you entered her yet in any contest, she sure deserves to in a competition, I know I would enter her for sure, also have you propagated her yet.
By the way Robert, do you know where are the ladies with there there wonder photos of there beautiful hibs, It's been quite a while since I've been able to to admire their blooms, they always got so many beauties show. ( ardesia, ecrane3, Cat4gp, Fla_Chick, amarantha00 ) sure miss their photos.
Wilfred
Hi wilfred,
Thanks for the compliment. I know it sets seed because I have harvested 3 pods from her. Maybe I can show her next year. Her name is Lavander Daze.
I have not seen much of them. I see Liz and Alice every now and then. I think Fla_Chick has some newbies brewing hopefully we see her soon. I have not seen anything from Cathy or Karen. Hope to soon Kinda worried about them both.
BTW I suspect Jon is watching gator wrestling in florida and is too focused to put up pics LOL
What you mean Jon is watching gator wrestling!.....he's probably wrestling with them himself right now. LOL!
Well hope their OK, really miss them on the forum even though I've never met them in person, Next time you see Liz and Alice would you say hello to them on my behalf, and that they are missed on the forum.
Boy, that's is one of a kind double you have there, first time I hear a double to produce pods, Lavender Daze is a double winner for sure.
Wilfred
I'm around--just haven't had as much time to keep up with all the forums lately. Plus I've gotten really bad about getting pics off my camera ever since I got the one with the memory card that holds 4000 pictures! LOL My hibbies have been a bit slow lately too, we're having "June gloom" this month so while I'm enjoying the cooler weather, the hibbies want a little more sun & heat to bloom well. I do have a couple new pics, hopefully I'll have time to get them off the camera this weekend and post. It's supposed to warm up a bit for the next couple days so that may speed some buds along too.
Glad to heir from you Liz! the same thing is happening to me with the memory card, I think I'm going to get one with smaller memory like me for the daily uses, and then I'll transfer them two to the other bigger memory card when I'm finish with them. Looking forward to your pics.
Wilfred
Nice blooms Robert. I like them all and find it hard to pick a favorite. That photo of Creole Lady did it for me. It's on the order list now as I can see its a good grower. The vivid summer colors are definitely a nice surprise in the summer heat. I'll bet you took the photos in the AM before the heat became unbearable. That's what I usually do. Oh well...its time to take "Jaws" (my pet alligator) for her daily walk on her leash. She loves to go out looking for hor d'oeuvres and little snacks.
Jon
Now I've got to get a Black Jack for sure! I love the darker colors it's showing now, do you think the heat & high humidity helped with that? Culture Shock & Yoda, they're unbelievable! Great names, really sassy colors, I love 'em!
LOL
Thanks Jon and Debbie,
It is usually opposite in the heat. They are usually smaller and washed out. I took the pics at about noon and the colors stayed throughout the day. It was a nice change for the heat!!!
"Jaws" (my pet alligator)...lol Jon, you are a card.
Jon, I just read where you were taking "Jaws" out for her little walk, that's so sweet, make sure to put her bonnet on, no sunburns, ok? Post pics too, I'd love to see the little dickens! LOL
LOL. Oh my!!! Jaws just wears a pink bow, a pair of pink framed sunglasses and a little SPF 15. Gotta protect her from all that additional wrinkly sun damaged skin. She just been to the dentist so her teeth are sparkling. Chomp chomp
Jon
Oh boy. It starting thundering again!!! Jaws always hides under the bead every time it starts to thunder.
LOL, my granddaughter has named a couple of our neighborhood gators. There is Roughy, Greeny, Bumpy and Meanie.
I'm still here folks, just too hot and tired to take pics. I am spending all my time watering right now. We are getting plenty of rain but in between it is hot and windy which dries all the container plants quickly - thus all the watering.
Yeah the watering can get brutal this time of year. Boy does it zap the energy out of you no matter what time of the day you do it. Luckily we've been getting enough rain here and there that no watering has been needed for the past four weeks. I wish I could send some of the rain clouds toward Texas to give you guys a break. I set up some of those HUGE sports fans outside facing west to try to blow the clouds your way. So far, I guess it isn't working too good. I even have them on the high setting!!!
Jon
Lucky you Jon, I'll bet that with all the rain and all the gator-aid, all you have to do right now is admire your beautiful hibs, LOL!
Wilfred
While the soil is soft and wet from all this rain I am going to plunge a lot of the pots into the ground. That might help keep them damp.
It sure is strange how the moisture is just hanging around the east coast and while we are sweltering down here, the NE is wet and unusually cool.
Nice to hear from you Alice, well like I say, that's the price we pay to maintain all our beauties in tip top conditions and ready for their performance.
Wilfred
They all look great robert...
I really like Midnight Madness..
