I thought I had posted this here, but it was the Vines forum so here goes again......
I think it may be all the rain we've had, cause she sure is growing...just not a lot of blooms. I figured fertilizer, and was going to use bloom buster ( not what it's called but something similar with a very high 32 middle number)..but figured I'd check w/ the experts first.
My Calico Pipevine on the other had has about 18 buds in various stages on it.
Lady Margaret not blooming much
Mj, I know Phicks, Paul uses Bloom Booster a lot. I tried it last year and it actually suppressed flowering on my hibiscus and brugmansia. I'd use it on one plant and see what happens .. my Lady Margaret was blooming like crazy this spring but it occurs to me that I haven't had a bud since I started my feeding program with just plain old 2 tbs per gallon stuff. It also might be that it's in the greenhouse and only gets filtered sun.

I have heard that before. I may give it a little more time and see how it does. Should I trim it back some ? My other passi's are blooming and they get more shade. LM is in full blazing sun all day, roots are thickly mulched to keep cool. Good healthy growth......and "was " blooming like crazy...we're down to our "normal" 1-1 1/2 inch every couple days now...so I'll see how it does, or maybe just use a good balanced fertilizer.
Lol, your talking to a neophyte when it comes to passies .. I'm just starting and learning myself. Lady Margaret was actually my first one, which Paul sent me.
I really think it would be a good idea to have a sticky at the top of this forum, even if it's just general information. Easy to do .. just talk to Terry.

MJ,
My Lady Margaret did the same thing until its roots made it out of the watering holes in the bottom of the pot and into the ground. I went to bring it into the garage one December a year and a half ago, and it wouldn't budge. Since then it blooms from March til November. So far, I haven't had any volunteers popping up, but I think its only a matter of time. I have to cut it back weekly. This is one vigorous vine!

Mark,
Mine is in the ground. No Pot. Planted on a light slope , made a big "cage" out of field fencing, that if she escapes too far will fall victim to a rather large riding lawn mower. The Gulf Frits are really using her alot. I'm going to dig down in the soil a bit and check, but I'm certain the drainage is good.
MJ,
Mine used to do that--it would go through phases. If the plant is growing well, I think its probably OK. Just give it a little time.
