I received this in a trade and it's supposed to be Blackfoot Daisy. I'm not sure if that's what it is or not. Any ideas??

Maybe a Gomphrena.

Was that from me? It is Gomphrena..I have both. Sorry if I didn't give you the blackfoot, but the gomphrena beats the heat too. although probably not a native.

I will make sure to give you a blackfoot next swap. They grow near each other so I guess it got mixed up. Sorry!

Anna, I don't remember who I got it from, I just wanted to know what it is. I kept looking for white flowers and it never happened! LOL I have Gomphrena on my wish list, so I'll cross it off! I've enjoyed watching it grow and bloom and will now have to make a little plant marker for it.

I planted Gomphrena for the 1st time this year (someone on the Butterfly list told me it is a good b'fly attractor) -- both red and purple. They sure seem to like this heat!!

Carla, you're right! This one has really taken off with the heat.

I had you on my list to give you BF daisy, so I am sure I am the culprit. I also looked at the bed again. When I was pulling the seedlings I was trying to decide if it was BF daisy or four nerve daisy...but never thought it might be gomphrena. Now that look at the baby leaves, I see how I made a mistake. Enjoy the happy blooms
