I went to my sister-in-law's house and she was overrun with stokesia. I started her in gardening several years ago and she was a good student, especially about soil improvement. But she had lung surgery and some after-effects, so her garden got out of hand. My spousal unit and I, along with my in-laws, went by and helped clean things up and she had me dig some young stokesia plants out of one bed. It ended up being quite a few. She gave them to to do what I please so of course I thought of DG first.
I would like to trade them for proven reblooming bearded iris and some shade plants. I'd like some verbena and some hellebore that does not have green blooms, maybe hellebore foetidus. There is also a perennial geranium name Jolly Bee and one called Claridge Druce I'd like.
The hardest thing for me to find is Persicarni affine "Darjeeling Red" a/k/a Polygonum. The cultivar name was "superbum" although Forest Farm calls it "Superba". I realize there are a few sites with this plant for sale but they have either discontinued it or are sold out for the year.
Last of all, I coud use some geum.
I love stokesia and have planted several here and several at our community center, but now I need more people to pass them along to.
Stokesia plants, lots of them
I have some 'Beverly Sills' that would be happy to sing in your yard!
Oh that would be perfect! How many stokesia do you want?
Do I have anything on my have list that I could trade for some of your stokesia?
Yes, I thought we were talking about swapping the Beverly Sills for the stokesia. I will check your have list if I can find it.
No I don't have a Beverly Sills , what ever that is. I was just interested in getting the stokesia if you wanted to trade any more off.
flowerfantasy, I'm sorry, I thought I was still talking with 50glee. I will check your trade list and get back to you right away.
ok Thanks
sorry, I didn't see anything that works for me; I have a lot of shade.
Ok Thanks anyway.
However, I could be induced to send some for postage.
Do you still have any left?
yes.
I would gladly send postage, if you a willing.
Joyce
