It is a wonderful video! It completely captures the hatching experience.

Do you have any idea what color the little partridge chicks are likely to be? ZZ and I recently hatched two that look just like them. They are very, very small and came from Darlene Thompson.

Also I read your entry about the aggressive rooster. I had a similar experience with a Dutch Bantam chick that was intent on scalping my (now ZZ's) Serama rooster chick, Booker. He managed to remove almost all the skin from the top of poor Booker's head and it took months for him to recover. I thought the DB was just a rotten roo, but after I separated them, the Dutch became quite ill. When he recovered and Booker was larger I put them back together to see if the situation had changed. Oddly it had, Booker was now dominant. Apparently it is not unusual for Dutch Bantam roos to "latch on like snapping turtles".... Why the change after his illness, I don't know--but there was never any further problems between them.
