Mislabeled colors

Hi all. I am a newbie, just was steered to this site about a week ago, and am I ever glad! I was thinking I was a sick, sick girl, having such a love affair with my brugs! I told someone that if all my other plants died, I'd feel bad, but if something happened to my brugs, I'd be devastated! I have 4, and from the few posts I've had time to read, I think I have a ways to go to catch up. 2 years ago I bought a small brug that was in bloom. The flowers were a peach color. Later on that spring, I bought one that was sposed to be yellow. that one bloomed and was peach colored. To say that they are yellow is a stretch of the imagination. I have come to the conclusion that they are both supposed to be yellow. *sigh*. This spring I purchased 2 rooted cuttings from a local greenhouse. These were not cuttings they rooted, these were packed and sorted according to color, which was on the little box. Showed pix of white, pink or yellow. I bought a white one and a pink one. I potted them up and didn't label the pots, was of no matter to me which was which, that would be obvious when they bloomed, and I wanted a surprise. Well, I sure got one. I have ANOTHER yellow/peach one!!!! I thought maybe they started out a little colored and got white as the bloom matured. No such luck. I can't believe there are so many colors of brugs that all you have. I'd sure love to have a cutting of some of them, but I have nothing to trade. :>( I would pay for cuttings, of course, if any of you would consider selling me any. I'd love to have some really neat colors. None of my rabid plant friends have brugs, so I've given about 10 cuttings away this year. They are just amazed at the size of the flowers. Even my hubby thinks they are kind of neat, and he generally doesn't pay much attention to my plants. So, I hope to come to this site alot, and I have a feeling I'm going to make many new friends here.

HI Anna, and welcome to our crazy addiction. Can't have just one, huh?? don't I know it:) There are several of us here that will have cuttings but I'm thinking probably around the middle-end of October. You'll see us post. I would like to wait until mine stop blooming, this is my first year, and greedy little me, I want every bloom I can get:)
oh, and if you think you have it bad, I won't tell you how many I got this summer ! :)

Do any of you Bruggies sell your cuttings or just trade? If you trade, I guess I'm out of luck. *sigh* I'll be watching tho, just in case. I've traded some of my brug cuttings locally for calla lily bulbs and sent a cutting to a friend in SD, traded that one for a PG onion! LOL Gave my mom one for Mothers day, it didn't bloom, silly woman had it planted with her hostas. I told her, "filtered sun". Not full shade!! Please, tiG, tell me how many you got this summer!!!!!!!

well, I did buy a few off ebay and the rest I traded plants for or sent postage. You can get almost anything in trade here that you could get on ebay and it's much cheaper:)
Some of those I cut in two and got two plants for one. Even with all the cuttings I've sent out lately I still have about 75 or so, not counting the 18 arborea seedlings I have going. Or the 5 cuttings in the kitchen that need to be potted:) I'll have to take cuttings before I bring them in, or DH won't have a place to sleep:)
I will have some for postage as soon as they finish blooming. I'm going to put you on my list and will write you then and see what you want. Oh, and there's no rule that says you have to trade brug for brug, there are lots of things I don't have that I might trade for:)

Tig,
You going to have a collection to rival my own before long if you don't already have one. Can't wait to see your hybrids that I know you will create. If you have half the luck or Glory then I want a cutting for sure.

I think I have a seedpod. Now I know that this cross has been done before, but if I really have one, it's soooo exciting!!!!

Anna,
Email me and we'll talk postage for Brugs.

Gloria
