Wanted: Plant Donations for Newbie Summer weekly contest

Free Seeds for Newbies is running a weekly contest to promote Plant Files and navigating Dave's Garden sites. We are giving the scrambled Latin name of the plant. The first newbie to correctly unscramble the Latin name and give the Latin name and the common name gets the plant. We would like to run this contest throughout the summer and are looking for donations from members. You would be responsible for mailing the plant and paying the postage. Contact Arejay59 by dmail to donate a plant.

OK, I signed up to donate a plant. This is really fun.

The scramble this time, I can't even figure out, and I have a small nursery, LOL.

So we're looking for some more people to donate a plant for the scramble.

Please come on over and look at the thread. It's a great time, and the plant goes to a new gardener . What can be better than giving a plant to a new gardener? Just one plant. It will warm the heart.

oh, mamajack, I've got to tell you a story, When our first grandson, Jonathan, was a toddler we babysat him every friday, then his mom and dad would join us for dinner before taking him home. One nasty wintry day, we caught him in the outer entryway and he was lining up all the boots and shoes. From the tallest to the shortest with the heels against the wall and the toes all pointing out, in pairs. He was around 3 at the time. I told Rob, our son, I'm sorry. I know where it comes from and it isn't a passive gene either, as Rob also has it. Jon will be 14 his next birthday. They moved to KY so I don't have a lot of memories of him growing up.

and mittsy it is both wonderful and humbling to see your kids doing and saying what you yourself say and do. and i have also been ashamed a few times as well.

Tell everyone about the plant that appeared that you don't know where it came from...I have a feeeling..someone here knows where it came from.

you mean that alstroemeria? are you kidding me? i was a recipient? i didn't guess. are you kidding me? what about that box of iris? i have a name on that person but not their "handle" so i am waiting on 2 people to angrily write me asking me where their plants are. lol. you don't mean that alstroemeria? surely not.

and when i send what i am sending am i not supposed to say it was me? it's secret who is sending? you better fill me in on any other important rules because you can bet i skipped reading the rules. lol.

Do put your return address on the plant that you send to the winner. We don't want the postal inspectors to rip the box open because they think it is hazardous.

Yes and we want the unscramblers to know who you are!! They want a clue..I see there is a clue here. I wonder if I can find another clue??

Did I tell everyone? We are working on a special 4th of July scramble? I will have to post it early. I have to head two hours North that gay gotta go check on Blueberry plants. Then off to seaglass picking!! How about Friday post that week? Any objections? It is going to be a good scramble three count them three plants...
