They can be moved to the datura also. Guess you might have a few of those Peg?
I dont' think she wants them on her tomato plants, but can't kill them knowing they are going to be a beautiful moth one day.

Sheila, you are correct, I cannot kill them.

I was going to leave them alone since they were not eating the buds or fruit, BUT............. a couple of days after my post I saw they were eating the fruit so I asked my husband to take all seven of them off the plant and get rid of them. I told him I didn't want to see or hear or know what he did, just get rid of them. End of story on that one. The one I kept to watch pupate, ate and pooped repeatedly then refused to eat. I knew it was getting time...he/she paced constantly around the terrarium frantically and finally started the last instar. Its all shriveled up now, but I really think its dead. Oh well I tried, lets see if I have any better luck with the new GST.

Thanks, Gardenpom.

They pupate in the soil and leaf litter on the ground normally. I bet it is just doing it's thing and not dead. Leave it for a week and see if it has changed. Moths are very slow to emerge also. You might read up on that one and see if you are willing to wait that long! LOL!
