ID Me Please :)

Good Saturday Everyone ,


Jim , Gl , is there anyone who knows who this darling is ,she is Neil's Wam Bam should have been but isn't , really wanted Wam Bam but she is very pretty with the tiny petals in the middle , she is the color in the pic , a lavender with the darker lines but I would like a name for her so if any know please let me know , she deserves a name , I got her from Neil's streps on ebay , if no one knows I will email Dennis and ask him and thank you all for helping :)

Yea!! She is Neil's Purple Passion and I ordered her, too , but she hasn't bloomed. I love that strep!

I emailed Dennis and sent the pic and he didnt know what it was , said it looked a bit like Neils' Jelane but said she doesn't usually double like this one does , said he might need a leaf LOL , I said I would send him one if it isn't one he knows so it apparently not Purple Passion and I didn't find a pic of N. Jelane so can't compare it .

Am I wrong in saying that I thought Dennis only sold his own hybrids???????? Let me go see what Sugar Baby looks like.............

I looked at that site earlier and purple passion is not it , mine is lavender and the lines are different , maybe when the next bloom opens I can tell more , I didn't know Dennis had a site , thank you for telling me Gail , I have only bought from him on ebay .

I don't know but he grew it , he sells other people's hybrids too , he has some variegated ones I want so I asked him if I can just order some from his site :)

There are a lot of good vendors for streps, Connie...............many many..........we will all share their names............

Belisle's has a lot of good streps but you can't always count on the quality of what you get........just luck sometimes.

I would rather order leaves from belisle's but people said that is just as 'iffy'..........it is a shame because they offer some good streps and other gesneriads.......

oh that would be so nice as I am tired of paying big bucks for tiny crappy plants , if I didn't pay a lot for them I wouldn't mind the size but when you pay 15 or 20 dollars for a plant that you buy before Spring you hope you will be getting something that will bloom before Winter offers it's icy hand in hello .

Connie, you place your order by talking to him on the phone. I notice he doesn't have Aly's Mollie Howell listed but he has a lot not on the site that he would be happy to sell to you............when I say small, not small like most ebay sellers.........they come in a 21/4" pot and are ready to take off when you get them..............not 'itty bitty' things like on ebay.

Brennan's Orchids have some nice big ones...............GL and someone else just got some from her.

I know them , I ordered from them a few years ago and tried to order some AV leaves , plants and streps from them at the end of winter this year but no answer , you can't just place an order on line it seems and so I emailed them with a list of the plants , leaves and streps i wanted but no luck and didn't try again , the order i got from them years ago were so so but they didn't charge a lot so I think compared to most sellers on ebay I got more for my money from them , i would buy from them again if I didn't have to work so hard to get hold of them .

Dennis lists that one on ebay and I do want to buy it but I would rather buy it direct from him so he gets all the money , I am waiting for an email back from him , am going to ask to buy that one from him , it is gorgeous :) I did get three wonderful streps from Brennan's on ebay , was delighted with the plants they sent huge and lovely , so yes they are keeper sellers :)

Well I talked to Dennis ( emailed ) he said his site is still under construction but should be ready in a couple of weeks so another nice place to buy from , with nice plants and he is from my state , hahahaha showing off hahaha so spread the news :) but the mystery remains about the lovely Wam Bam imposter :)

You might have a new plant to name!!! I am sure that Dennis wouldn't care.............she is a beauty. I just got carried away on ebay with David Thompson........now I am shopping for our club members (^_^)

I have always gotten good healthy plants from him and glad he is reworking his website..........well......i want some from LLG but the shipping will be 20.00 plus .25 each for wrapping..........yikes, it hard to order from him but he has good big plants. Should have stayed away from ebay tonight for the president of our local AV club.

I love to buy from David Thompson , he sends wonderful plants , I bought way too many from him but I love them all and he is a very nice man so would recommend him and his plants to anyone , I know GL said she got some from him that didn't bloom true and were small but I am sure he would make it right for her , mine are all so nice and are all blooming true so far , I looked at his on ebay too , thinking of getting more but left before I could bid hahahaha

No, I don't buy for an african violet club but we trade some. Marjorie gave me Thumbelina back and she wanted one of david's, but of course, I bought myself a few more (LOL)

I bought many from David and was so very pleased with all of them , the Raspberry Splash leaf I sent to you was from the plant I got from him , I also love the plants of Tim on ebay he is lilriver in WI and sells really nice plants , I found him this winter and bought several from him and he too is a very nice man .

Did you finish all your planting ? I tend to take some time to do mine , not very organized I guess , today I took another leaf of Museum of Art , just love that plant so want to make sure I have spares and I like you love to see the babies coming as well as the blooms :)

I guess no one else wants to chime in on my mystery lady so I think I will just name her myself , the second bloom opened overnight and is double like the first so it seems she is staying as she is , which is wonderful , she is sooooo pretty :)

I hope you are having a supreme day in every way , it is like paradise here but still praying it will start raining everynight for a while . Talk to you later :)

lilriver does have great plants and great choices, too! Be sure and tell us what you name your new beauty!!!

I thought it was hotter than the weatherman said. We only have a heat index of 98 degrees, but it feels so much hotter............we are also praying for more than our 2" this year since Jan. 1.

I would have spoken but i dont have a clue who she is,its pretty though,

He is plant_maniac or plant-maniac.........from Iowa................you can't miss him. But.......he usually puts things on Monday night for auction and ends his auctions on Saturday night.
