Dinu,
lovely pictures, but I think you have misidentified this damselfly. The male Golden dartlet (Ischnura aurora) has an orange abdomen, not just the sides but all round: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ischnura_aurora . Yours had black on top with the orange colour only on the underneath and part of the sides.

I think your damsel is probably the Common Bluetail (Ischnura senegalensis): http://photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=9261692
and if you agree I will change this entry to be that species,

Ken

Thank you Ken. I just rechecked it. I first saw on a site and it mentioned senegal in it, but was unable to verify further. So I was leaning towards the aurora. Thanks for your precise pointer.

Please watch out for such little inconsistencies in my postings - my searches are not as elaborate as yours. I am still learning, albeit slowly! Time also gets behind me!

BTW, did you notice this one? Kindly reply in that thread.

Thanks Dinu, I have now changed it to the Common Bluetail (Ischnura senegalensis): http://davesgarden.com/guides/bf/go/5647/

I will look at your other damselfly, but there may be some delay before I have time to do so,

Ken
