A few from southeast texas 6-12

Nederland, TX(Zone 9a)

It's just HOT here and thats all too it. I am really suprised the hibbies are preforming this well. Blooms are everywhere, and I did happen to shoot a few.

Enjoy,
Robert

Southeast texas over 100 degrees with the heat index. Humidity 80% or more. Knocks you to your knee's.

Twins from "BlackJack" 9 more on the bush but they are spread out.

Wow! Encore!

Ft Lauderdale, FL(Zone 10a)

Exactly, wow. Like them all especially Crimson Glory, Captain Blood and..of course...Funny Voodoo. I'll take anything with Voodoo in its name!!! Robert, do you have any issues with red colored blooms getting sun burned a bit in the extreme summer heat? I have a few that get that way but I've read that it is fairly common. I've hired a hib-body guard to shield the red blooms on the day they open. Hehe I keep thinking the first one is "Haunted House" and the name Barry Schleuter comes to my mind for some reason.

The other ones I really liked are the seedling you haven't named, Funny Voodoo, Strawberry Patch, Yolanda Gommer..........O MY GOD! ....HAVE TO MAKE A LIST AND I NEED A BLOCK OF PAPER, LOL!

Dublin, CA(Zone 9a)

Very pretty! It's so hard to pick a favorite--I think I'd have to go with Black Jack.

Thanks Everyone,

Jon,

I do have problems with the darker tones, when it gets really hot. Edges curling and the blooms scorching. You are right, it's haunted house. I love crimson glory too. Not one of mine though. I may try to stick a few and see what happens.

Another one I love is Yolanda Gommer. Mainly because of all the colors changing in it. You just have to see all day to enjoy and appreciate it.

Robert, if you get any cutting of Crimson Glory started would you please separate one for me.

Wilfred

Hi Wilfred,

I'll try some on a couple of weeks and see if they take. If so I'll keep you 1.

Robert

Ft Lauderdale, FL(Zone 10a)

I'll take one Crimson Glory also. Oops, I forgot this isnt the co-op portion of the site. LOL Yeah, I had read about the curled edges and burn marks (mostly on the reds) during the summer. It's always good to know its just a quirk and not something we're doing wrong. At least we can rescue some of those blooms and bring them inside before the summer sun gets em'.
