Yippee!!!!! found this am on my buddlehia. Which prompted me to make a batch of BF Brew.
FINALLY! A Question Mark dropped in
Congrats, congrats!
What's happened to question marks? I used to raise them - they'd lay eggs on my hops vines - but I haven't had any in two seasons. I finally saw an adult last winter, but still no eggs/cats. I've got plenty of other host plants for them, too, like false nettles (which they've used in the past) and winged elms, but no takers.
Beautiful picture!
Sherry
This is my second season seeing them, they are on the rotting fruit from my peach tree. I planted Holy Blessed Thistle this year (Cnicus benedictus), have you ever used it? If so what are you seeing one it. I must get some hops, I see postings where it is mentioned frequently.

Looks like a Winter form - isn't that strange! We had a QM winter form at the National Butterfly Park this past Saturday. Really fresh critter too.
I haven't seen any in my yard this year - got false nettles but never could get hops vines. Sure would love to raise and release those butterflies. Am still envious of Sherry - who posted photos of those she raised and released. It was she who got me hooked after seeing those stacks of eggs!!! Alas, none have ventured to lay eggs on the plants here.

Good for you! Wish I could get some too. My hops seedlings didn't make it :-(.

Texas Puddin quit whinning, LOL you have the best BF's, let us have at least a couple!
Can I have more cheese with my whine :o) heh heh!!! I really, really, reallllllly wish the fall season were here already. That's when all the great butterflies show up. Although we are officially in hurricane season our temps are hitting 100 most days now and it isn't even the dog days of summer yet. Could use some cooler temps and some rain!!! Oops...am I whining again?

Datura,
Very nice pic! :)
We had a Question Mark Visitor today...
Cat,
I'll trade weather/temps/rain with ya...been growing a farm of mushrooms in our lawn, rain, more shrooms, rain...
You get the pic. Our temps finally got above 75 today after several days in the high 60's to low 70's. I was starting to worry about all the plants in the gardens getting root rot. Aphids have become a nightmare too. Tomorrow we're supposed to get 1-2 inches of rain...Geeeeessh
Bring on the 100's!
Wanna trade?
Trade! Trade!
Why can't the powers that be just spread the cool temps and rain around evenly?
~ Cat
Then you wouldn't get all those great tropical bfs that venture up your way!
I love the QMs! Great picture Peg!! I have made any new brew, but I have seen several of them and the Hackberry Emperor that are still sipping on the old batch.
I just made a new batch too, thanks again for the compliment.
