I have enjoyed feeding my neighborhood birds for over 20 years from a bird feeder hanging off the awning on my front window. Two weeks ago I installed new windows and removed the awning over the window. I moved the feeder to the awning over the door - not more than 4 feet from the original location. Since the day the new windows went in there is a cardinal that sits in the tree directly in front of the house and flies into the window. Not once or twice, but CONSTANTLY from 5:30 a.m. until dusk. Everyday. It doesn't matter if someone is in front of the window, or if the window is open, or if there's noise coming from the house, or if someone's standing on the porch. It just doesn't matter. Just the cardinal, not any other cardinal or any other kind of bird for that matter. Does anyone have any idea why or how to stop him?
Crazy Cardinal
tg, check out this website. I bought some decals to stop birds randomly flying into windows, but I believe they have a special product for the type of problem you're describing.
