Have been wanting one for soooo long.
This one is a mix of plain green, regalis and mauna loa.
Had to take a pic...didn't even wait to clean the dirt off the pot.
And NO MEALIES.
Did a thorough inspection...had soapy water and alcohol ready, but didn't need 'em.
Doin' the hoya dance!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And DH won't be home till this eve, so he won't even notice.

(Can you tell I'm happy???)
Thank you C.F.!!!!
FINALLY got a compacta!!!
Very nice!!
Very nice indeed! I had a cutting once of the variegated compacta but it didn't survive for some reason. I've seen on the EA website where they have H. compacta 'Regalis' for sale but I've never seen one called Mauna Loa ... is it different variegation than the one called Regalis?
The regalis (variegata) has cream or white on the outer edge and green inside.
Mauna Loa has green on the outside and cream and lighter green inside.
Very Pretty, both!
Yes, they are very pretty, and your plant with them all in it is really lovely 2Many. I had Mauna Loa and it was a sickly little cutting from day one. It never grew and although it took a couple of years, it finally bit the dust last year. I'd really like to try it again, but can never find it either. I have regalis and although its a very, very slow grower, it is robust and happy.

Christine...I got mine on EBAY from Cowboy Flowerman.

Oh my GOODNESS...that is GORGEOUS!
Wish I could find plants like that locally.......
Major envy here...LOL.......................

Well, I was very happy. It's the first hoya in bloom that I've found-ever.
Beautiful plant!!! But it looks less tightly "curled" than a Hindu Rope....is it a Krinkle 8, or a compacta, or a rope??? Hmmmm....whatever it is, I really really like it--just gorgeous!
Shelley
Kathy, Where on earth did you find a hoya in bloom? That's amazing.
Humm Sharon, looks like I have some blackmail material:-). You'd better behave. You did good on your hoya.
Blessings,
Awanda
Hey Awanda...
I just discovered your site on ebay...how come no auctions going on???
Sharon
We were in San Diego until earlier this week; I plan on listing some soon.

I'm so glad I found this thread! I bought this hoya about a year ago not remembering what the woman called it but thought it was just so neat!! it's done remarkably well, she said it was very hardy and she was right! You(2many plants) had mentioned something about mealys. I actually just demealy bugged this one a few days ago because I noticed it had a few...but not too many actually. Is this plant prone to getting mealys?! Also, There are a few bare spots, could I cut it off and then plant it like you can do with succulents? Some leaves don't look so hot but it's such a tough plant!! And I've actually gotten like three separate blooms from this plant, I really like it, a lot!!
i'm really new to the plant world and am never quite sure what I'm doing!! So any help is greatly appreciated!! Thanks again for the thread! :)
