Will the RBGB intefere with Cardinal's fledglings? This is the second time in 2 days that I heard the moma and Papa Cardinal fret and protested loudly. Yesterday it was my neighbor's dog that getting close to the area (a magnolia tree and heavy under planting). Today the dog(s) were kept inside, and I heard alot of commotion. I aimed and shot away got many pictures, but I believe the intruder was there, a red-Breasted Grosbeak? Or could that be another large bird? Please help.

I can see two cardinals, a male and female flying back and forth as if to shoo the other bird away. Or are those the Juvies trying to call mama and papa to alert them of the intruder? Your thought?

Looks like an Eastern (Rufous Sided) Towhee to me in pic 1. I don't think it will cause any grief to your cardinal family

Oh good, on both counts. Good for the cardinal juvies, and me -- to add on a new bird on my life list. Thank you jec6.

Is this the Eastern Towhee? I guess the cardinal has successfully shoooed it off the nesting ground. It went on to the other side of the yard on the neighbor's side. :-)
