Donner I cut mine back too for possible second bloom and because Monarch cats do better with tender new growth than tough older leaves! I do the same with Common and Swamp Milkweed except when I plan to collect seeds.

Gita, your pot of Tropical Milkweed looks great and should come into bloom shortly.
